Smetana - Vltava
Grieg - Piano Concerto
Shostakovich - Symphony No. 5
Lara Melda, formerly known as Lara Omeroglu, is the current BBC Young
Musician and she plays Grieg's every popular Piano Concerto.
Smetana's tone poem Vltava, better known by its German title of
Moldau, vividly charts the course of the river that runs through Prague.
We end with Shostakovitch's powerful 5th Symphony, a cris de
coeur against the Russian Stalinist regime.
The Concert starts at 7.30pm in Mote Hall, which is within the
Maidstone Leisure Centre, Mote Park, Maidstone.
