We’ve a very welcome return to MSO for the superb
Italian cellist Silvia Chiesa, who plays the beautiful late-romantic
concerto by Edouard Lalo. Elsewhere, orchestral high jinks abound with
Richard Strauss’s irrepressible tale of a lovable rogue, Till Eulenspiegel,
and Berlioz’s exciting and revolutionary Symphonie Fantastique.

Silvia Chiesa made her debut in 1998 at the
Barbican Hall, London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; she has played
with the Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi, Milano and the Maidstone
Symphony Orchestra.
