Ulf Hoelscher   (Violin)

Conductor: Brian Wright

Bernstein - West Side Story & Symphonic Dances

Barber - Violin Concerto

Saint-Saens - Introduction & Rondo Capriccioso

Fauré  - Pavane

Ravel - Daphnis & Chloe  Suite No.2

Here’s a blockbuster of a programme. The great German violinist Ulf Hoelscher plays Samuel Barber’s haunting Violin Concerto and some superbly virtuosic Saint-Saëns. There’s also passionate panache with Bernstein’s West Side Story Dances, elegant charm with Fauré’s Pavane, and sumptuous splendour with Ravel’s Daphnis & Chloe.
